Hong Kong fest hosts ‘Israfil’

Iranian film ‘Israfil’ directed by Ida Panahandeh has been qualified to participate in Hong Kong Asian Film Festival.

The Iranian film will be competing in the festival organized from November 8th to November 13th, 2017.

‘Israfil’ is the second feature film by Panahandeh. The drama deals with human challenges and needs.

“The girl who loves Behrouz will return. The dead will return to life,” the movie’s synopsis reads.

The movie features Pejman Bazeghi, Hedieh Tehrani, Merila Zarei and Hoda Zeinolabedin.

The music for the movie was composed by Majid Pousti and the sound effects were finalized by Iranian sound designer Hossein Aboulsedq.

In Islam, the word 'Israfil' refers to the angel who announces the Day of Resurrection by blowing into a horn.

Hong Kong Asian Film Festival (HKAFF) is a film festival held annually in Hong Kong. Started in 2004 as an indie film festival, it has since grown into a large film festival known in Hong Kong.
